The Fortuny Infinity
The Fortuny Infinity dress gets its name from the pleated wrap ties and grosgrain detail that can be wrapped around the waist in a number of ways to create countless looks. Mariano Fortuny created immaculate hand-pleated silk gowns for the modern women of the 1920s. His designs rejected the severe corsetry of the previous decades and revealed the sensual form of a woman's body. The fabric selected for this piece is a modern interpretation of that pleating technique.
